Hi, there. I’m Pedro.
Creative Director + Writer based in Berlin.
I’d say my creative career started in the 80s, in a working-class neighborhood on the outskirts of Lisbon, long before I ever set foot in an advertising agency. Allow me to explain.
I always loved coming up with stuff. We didn’t have money or fancy toys growing up, so we had to use our imagination. One of my favorite things as a kid was playing radio station host with my brother. We’d come up with our own live “shows” and record them on an old Goldstar double-deck tape recorder.
The shows included improvised intros for the songs that were just coming up on the local radio station; live football-style commentary of whatever was happening outside our bedroom window (the more mundane the subject, the funnier it gets - you should try it!); prank-calling people with funny last names (a classic!) and challenging them to play a quiz where the “right” answers were… well, debatable.
In high-school, every time we had a group assignment, my friends and I would flip the thing into a Monty Python-esque sketch that we would then shoot at someone’s apartment, often wearing our moms’ clothes and whatever else we could find around the house as props. We didn’t always get the best grades, but we sure made everyone laugh.
Today, I try to create things that bring me the same kind of joy, either for big brands or as side-projects. Without having to wear my mom’s clothes so much.
